XIV Ordinary Period of Sessions of the General Conference

The XIV Ordinary Period of Sessions of the General Conference was held in the City of Viña del Mar, Chile from March 28 to 29, 1995 and was chaired by His Excellency Ambassador Pablo Cabrera, Director of Special Policy of the Foreign Ministry of Chile . The representative of Belize and the representative of Peru were elected as the two Vice-Presidents of the Conference.

The General Conference had the participation of representatives of twenty-two (22) Member States: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. They also participated eight (8) Observer States Linked to the Treaty: Cuba, the People's Republic of China, Dominica, United States of America, Russian Federation, France, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Netherlands. In addition, they were represented twelve (12) Observer States: Germany, Australia, Kingdom of Belgium, Spain, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, Republic of Korea, Czech Republic, Romania; and four (4) international observer organizations: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Brazilian-Argentine Agency for Accounting and Control of Nuclear Materials (ABACC), the European Commission, and the Permanent Commission of the South Pacific (CPPS).

At the Conference several topics were discussed and several resolutions were adopted, including:
